Kumiai-Ryu Members regularly train with other Martial Artists from around the world. Recent trips have included the annual visit to Sityodtong Thai Boxing Camp Pattaya City Thailand 2007. In 2005, senior members travelled to the USA and trained with Dan Inasanto, Gene Le Belle, Erik Paulson, (the late) Larry Hartsell and other leading instructors from the Inasanto Acadamy. Kumiai-Ryu also hosts a number of events throughout the year including KRMAS National Titles, Queensland Camp and Annual National Camp.
